Born and raised in rural north Texas, I narrated stories to my parents from a young age. Now, I write from my home north of the Dallas area, where I live with my husband and our two sons.
When I’m not writing for Point of View Radio Talk Show, booking guests for, recording, and producing the Know Why Podcast, or homeschooling the boys, you’ll probably find me curled up in a corner (of the couch) trying to read a good book or write a good story. (Read more about my creative pursuits here.)
I earned my bachelor's degree in journalism from Patrick Henry College in northern Virginia. With Washington, D.C. just down the road, I completed the National Journalism Center program and spent a year working as a talk radio producer for WMAL. God's grace brought me back to the Lone Star State, where my college sweetheart and I married and began building our family. Today I feel extremely grateful to work for two wonderful non-profit organizations while raising our boys near family and friends.
I enjoy deep conversations, both written and spoken, about the things that matter most—life, family, and living faithfully for Christ. I've spoken about these topics on multiple talk radio programs around the country. Today, you can frequently catch me on Point of View’s Millennial Round Table and Weekend Edition.
On this site you can find my latest published articles and radio appearances, read more about my love of reading and writing good stories on my blog “L. J.’s Corner,” or talk to me about writing for your publication or appearing as a guest on your show. If you’d like to recommend a guest or topic for the Know Why Podcast, contact me here.
